Section 4
The Preliminary Phase of Enterprise Architecture is about defining "where, what, why, who, and how" in the enterprise.
At WAB, the leadership group are the most important to gather information. The leadership group include the administrator team: principals from elementary school, middle school, and high school, as well as operation manager and the deputy director of the school. Also it includes the leader from each grade level and each department. Those leaders collect feedback from their grade level teachers or department staff and come together to talk about those feedbacks once two weeks.
Another important group is the Board of Education which represents parents, staff and all stakeholders, and also reviews and approves important decision made by the administration team.
Therefore, developing the enterprise architecture is not a solitary activity and the enterprise architects need to recognize the interoperability between their frameworks and the rest of the business (school, district, charter).
These feedback groups/loops are in place now. I have talked with the principles and grade level and department lead teachers, they all agree that EA is an important strategy to implement at WAB. During this course of EA, I have talked with them every week to research more about the system at WAB and introduce them the EA which they are very interested with and will implement in their five year long term plan.
