Section 5
I really like this diagram of Figure 8 on page 44 (NASCIO, 2004, p. 44) because it’s very clear and show the primary and supportive roles, groups, and individuals and their close relationship within the Enterprise Architecture Framework.
From this diagram, the circle in the middle (like the EA ADM global diagram) really stands out to me. I know the roles inside of the global circle must be essential or important, the roles on the side of the circle are necessary. I think manager and Procurement Manager are essential as well, I double why this role is outside of the circle.
I believe roles like overseer is not necessary. From the description, “the overseer is a role that is established by legislative mandate or similar directive from the Enterprise Executive.” The contribution is helpful and it’s a part-time job. “The role of overseer can be combined with the roles of Manager, Advisor and Communicator.” I can for-see if there’s a budget cut of this enterprise, this role will be cut although it’s not suggested, however, it can be combined or taken care by other roles such as Manager, Advisor and Communicator.
As I said above, some of the roles are essential. Jobs like Documenter/Author, Manager, Procurement Manager, Reviewer, Advisor, Enterprise Executive are all very important and essential in this EA framework. It follows the process of EA ADM process and makes the EA program team.
At WAB, the people who are responsible at EA governance are: Principals and their leadership team, teachers and their grade level lead, different department managers and workers such as IT, HR, Finance, Transportation, etc, parents and students and board members.
